Welcome back to school!

For information regarding JELCC Operations, please refer to the information in the boxes below. 

Beginning Monday, November 30, 2020, JELCC will offer scheduled in-person learning opportunities, following Marion County Public Health Department direction. Instructors will communicate with students scheduled in-person learning opportunities.

For more detailed information, please see our Phase IV Memo.

Schedule:

  • Week of November 23 - 27 - Thanksgiving Break - No School

  • November 30 - December 11  AND January 4 - 15, 2021

    • Virtual learning, with scheduled in-person learning opportunities

      • Instructors will communicate with students scheduled in-person learning opportunities

    • Tuesday through Friday only (Mondays - 100% virtual, no students in-person)

    • Bell Schedule - 8am to 3:10pm

  • December 14 - 17  → NC Finals Weeks, no Sending School students

Transportation - NC Transportation for 12.1-12.11.2020  

Sending schools: Please contact your HS Counselor for details on transportation days and times.

Virtual - All students are expected to attend class virtually and complete assignments.  On-going communication & instruction will continue through Canvas & Zoom.  

 

In-Person - The number of required in-person hours for dual credits and certification vary by program. See Dual Credit & Certification In-Person Requirements . Students should communicate with their teachers to learn specific dual credit and certification requirements for their programs. Instructors will consider social distancing protocols and in-person learning requirements as they assign specific attendance dates for individual students.  

 

Students enrolled in the programs below are highly encouraged to attend assigned in-person dates to fulfill dual credit and certification requirements. Teachers will communicate with students and assign dates.

Skyward Family Access

Welcome to Skyward Family Access!  This is where you will update phone numbers and emergency contacts pertaining to your student, pay fees, follow your student’s grades, locate new schedules and keep up on upcoming events from their teachers. You are also able to check grades!

Parking Permit Request Form***

Please fill out a Request for Parking Permit form and return to the JELCC bookstore to obtain a parking sticker. Each student operating a motor vehicle must obtain a parking sticker and display it in the rear window of his/her vehicle. ***JEL sending students only.

***Please note: North Central students must obtain their parking sticker from North Central and park in designated student spots on the west side of North Central.

Student Organizations

Career and Technical Student Organizations, commonly referred to as CTSOs, are youth organizations designed to support students in career and technical education (CTE) programs. 


CTSOs are considered an integral part of CTE - they help students develop the technical and leadership skills that will enable them to succeed in their career paths. All students enrolled in the Career Center will be eligible to participate in one of the six student organizations depending on the program in which they enrolled. The following youth organizations are active in the district, state, and national contests, have officers, participate in community projects, and enjoy a wide range of club activities.

Additionally, students may get involved in National Technical Honor Society. There will be two opportunities for students who are nominated by their instructors and qualify, to apply - one in the Fall and another in the Spring. The JELCC National Technical Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be held in the late Spring. Contact Diane Steffey for more details.
