I am the Family & Consumer Science Teacher. I come to JEL with 12 years of teaching experience in Science. I've taught middle school science, biology and chemistry. I graduated from Ball State University with a major in Science and minor in Psychology. I went back to school in 2006 to earn my teaching degree. My background in science and psychology have prepared me well for the adventure of being a FACS teacher. I feel such satisfaction knowing that what students learn in my classes prepares them to become healthy, happy, independent adults.

I have worked in Culinary since I was 12 years of age at the family business, Primo Catering. After high school I attended Johnson and Wales University for Culinary, and soon returned to Indy for my career. After working with the Wolfgang Puck group at the IMA, I continued to work with Chef Gates through many ventures including Buggs Temple and Euphoria Restaurants. I developed a passion for teaching and training Culinary Arts and decided to start teaching in 2014.
