Before I earned my AAS degrees in medical assisting and practical nursing, I was a manager at Starbucks. After finishing nursing school, I worked in long term care before I started teaching Health Careers at JEL and I absolutely love being in the classroom! When I’m not molding future healthcare professionals’ minds, you will find me on the sidelines cheering on my son and daughter at their sporting events and spending time with friends and family. As a Health Careers instructor, I am committed to help and guide my students to choose a career pathway in the healthcare field. I am dedicated to each of my students and strive to make their time in my class productive and successful. I believe in the principles set forth by Florence Nightingale, "Success comes from never taking or giving an excuse."

I attended Ivy Tech Community College for Nursing. I have worked at hospitals, long term care, home care and as a school nurse. My love for education has been with me from the beginning. When working with students, I love to see them attain a new skill or conquer the difficulty of a subject. In my personal life, I have three children, a husband and a dog, named Oscar.
