One or two year program, three hours per day Prerequisite: none Related College or Technical School Majors: Construction Management, Architecture Job Opportunities: Framer, construction supervisor Students will study construction skills through a residential building approach. Each year the students will take part in the construction of a single-family residence. Students will learn to use hand and power tools common to the building trades. Plot layout techniques are learned along with the process of selecting and ordering building materials. The total building concept is learned from footings and foundation to rafters and roofing. Students must enjoy working outside in all types of weather. A sample of first year topics/activities:

Supply cost to student: Approximately $100 for hand tools It is also possible to earn college credits from IUPUI for this course.
