

This class will be suited for students who like to work on automobiles, but are not interested in major auto repair. Students will learn the techniques used in basic auto maintenance shops. Procedures to safely and proficiently change engine oil, replace other necessary fluids, lubricate chassis’ and other basic car maintenance topics will be covered. Students will learn to do simple brake shoe changes and brake adjustments. Exhaust system function and repair will also be a topic of instruction. Radio installation and other interior customizing details will be covered in the second semester.
If a student wants to continue with an automotive related field for the second year, he/she should consider Auto Service Technology.

- Related College or Technical School Majors:
- Supply cost to student: Work uniform, protective shoes, safety glasses. Tools are provided, however, students are encouraged to consider starting to purchase tools for their own use. Cost for all supplies is approximately $45.
