TEAS Test

 


  • The test is predictive of an individual’s readiness and capability for completion of the educational program designed to prepare the qualified practical nurse.
  • Passing scores that are required are 80% in Reading, 60% in Mathematics, 60% in Science, and 70% in English. Reading deals with comprehension and conclusions.  Mathematics covers whole numbers, metric conversions, fractions, decimals, algebra equations, and percentages.  Science is focused on anatomy and physiology, basic science, chemistry, biology, and scientific reasoning.  English measures the knowledge of punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, meaning of words in context, and spelling. Aadmission requirements are subject to change at the discretion of the Supervising Director of Nursing.
  • The test takes approximately 3 ½ hours and consists of 170 questions.  Results from online testing will be given immediately following the test. 
  • Study materials may be purchased at the JEL office.  A study guide manual is $50, online practice test is $35 (2 unlimited tests of 100 questions each) and a study guide manual plus online practice test is $70.
  • Testing is administered online (web based) at the JEL office.  Cost is $45 for online and $45 for paper/pencil.  This testing fee is non-refundable or transferable.
