The clinical experiences are correlated with the course topics such as when students are studying care of the patient with a cardiac disorder, they will have clinical experiences on a cardiac unit. Once a student has been accepted into the J. Everett Light Nursing Program, they are guaranteed a clinical spot as long as the student continues to progress without interruption in their studies.
Clinical experiences are conducted in facilities that are large research institutions, smaller community based facilities, specialty hospitals, and in extended care facilities throughout Indianapolis and surrounding area.
Why Should I Attend the Practical Nursing Program at JEL?
- The classes are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants, who will be working with you in the clinical setting.
- Our program has an excellent reputation of preparing students to assume the LPN role in hospitals, long term care facilities, schools, correctional institutions and more. We have 100% job placement as facilities call us to hire our new grads and many students are offered LPN jobs while on their last clinical rotations.
- We have a small student faculty ratio with individualized personal attention from faculty who are available before and after class. Faculty members are actively involved mentoring students during the clinical experiences.
- J. Everett Light students have clinical opportunities for the hands on experiences in a variety of settings ranging from community hospitals to high tech teaching and research institutions.
- Unlike many other nursing schools, once you are accepted into our program, you are guaranteed a clinical space. So there is no wasted time waiting a year or longer just to get one of the few spaces for clinical.
