Who We Are...

Doreen Rogers
Nursing Director Dr. Doreen Rogers.

J Everett Light School of Nursing is accredited by Indiana State Board of Nursing.  The practical nursing program lasts 18 months and graduates are eligible to take the national licensing exam (NCLEX).  More of our graduates pass the licensing exam than the national average.  In the last 5 years, only one student has been unsuccessful in the taking the licensing exam, demonstrating the strength of the curriculum at J. Everett Light.   The School was recognized as an Indiana Vocational Education Adult Program “Award of Excellence Winner 2000”

The School of Practical Nursing offers an integrated program of theory and practice.  Learning experiences consist of lectures, group discussion, field trip, demonstrations, group activities, computer assisted learning, laboratory and clinical practice.  Clinical experiences includes care of adults, as well as maternity, pediatrics, and leadership
